Chikadze takes out Barboza for third straight KO

At some point after a handful of UFC fights, Giga Chikadze seemed to flip a switch. He’s made it pretty rough on everyone since then.

Chikadze started his UFC tenure with four straight decisions in 2019-2020. But after that, he has three knockouts in a row – all of which earned $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses.

In November 2020, the 33-year-old shut down Jamey Simmons with a head kick. In May 2021, he needed just 63 seconds to put away Cub Swanson with a body kick. And this past August, in his first UFC main event, he took out Edson Barboza in the third round for his ninth straight win and a perfect 7-0 start to his UFC career.

Saturday, Chikadze (14-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) headlines his second straight event when he takes on Calvin Kattar (22-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC) in a key featherweight bout at UFC on ESPN 32 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on ESPN following prelims on ESPN+.

Ahead of that fight, check out how Chikadze put away Barboza in the full fight video above.
