Conor McGregor Debuts In First UFC US Main Event

Seven years ago today, Conor McGregor competed in his first main event on U.S. soil.

McGregor made his main event debut a thrilling and violent one by stopping Dennis Siver less than two minutes into the second round. This win ensued a featherweight title shot, which the Irishman took full advantage of.

McGregor was undefeated in the UFC thus far, overcoming Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier. His streak snapped when he encountered Nate Diaz in 2016 and lost via submission.

Still, McGregor has become one of the faces of the UFC, and has since featured in nine main events – all of which were his next fights.
