    Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to its APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the UFC Vegas 82 mixed martial arts (MMA) event TONIGHT (Sat., Nov. 18, 2023), streaming LIVE on ESPN+. UFC Vegas 82 will be headlined by the 185-pound showdown between middleweight bruisers Brendan Allen vs. Paul Craig. Before that five-round clash of styles gets underway, welterweight up-and-comer Michael Morales and 170-pound veteran Jake Matthews collide in UFC Vegas 82’s co-main event. Elsewhere on the card, lightweight prospects Chase Hooper and Jordan Leavitt hook ‘em up at 155 pounds.

    Round 1: Tiuliulin comes out slugging, prompting Duncan to grab a body lock and put him on the fence. One minute in. Knees from Duncan. Landing short strikes against the fence. Two minutes in. Duncan not overextending with anything and Tiuliulin not doing much to escape. Two minutes to go.

    There’s a nice elbow from Duncan after a long stretch of nothing. More short clinch shots. One minute to go. Short knees. Tiuliulin finally escapes in the last 10 seconds and avoids a spinning elbow. 10-9 Duncan.

    265 lbs.: Mick Parkin vs. Caio Machado

    Round 1: Machado dings Parkin with an early left hand, prompting Parkin to put him on the fence. Short knee from Parkin. It takes a bit, but Parkin manages to lock his hands and take him down into guard a minute in. Machado uses the fence to sweep to his feet, only for Parkin to run the pipe and dump him back down into half guard. Two minutes in. Solid underhook from Machado lets him get back to his feet and separate. Low-high 3-2 from Machado, then a counter jab. Cuffing left hook by Parkin backs Machado off. Two minutes to go.

    Heavy body kick by Machado and Parkin shoots in. Machado threatens a trip, then lands on the break. Parkin advancing. They trade low kicks and Parkin shoots again to put him on the fence. One minute to go. They separate. Machado to the body. Nice jab by Parkin. He keeps looking for that overhand right without success. Machado tries a jump knee and blitzes in the final seconds. 10-9 Machado, I suppose.

    Round 2: Machado working behind the jab, lands a nice straight left behind it. 1-2. Parkin changes levels and runs the pipe to land on top in half guard again. One minute in. Parkin staying heavy, not landing a ton. Two minutes in. Machado regains guard. Parkin controlling and periodically landing half-hearted shots. Two minutes to go.

    Machado looks for an omoplata and Parkin uses the opportunity to take half guard again. Machado manages to kick him off, but eats a knee before trying his own and separating. Parkin plodding after him, lands a nice 1-2 before clinching up. He hauls Machado to the fence with a minute to go. Machado counters a takedown attempt with a kimura and tries to take the back, but falls over the top. Parkin goes right into the crucifix. He tries a keylock, but loses position. 10-9 Parkin.

    Round 3: Straight left from Machado. Counter 1-2 from Parkin to answer a low kick. Brief exchange in center cage. Machado complains about getting hit behind the head, the ref correctly tells him that he ducked into it. Good body shots by Machado, who eats a slow-mo 1-2. One minute in. Hard counter right by Parkin, then another. Parkin tries to put him on the fence, can’t do so. Another right by Parkin as he plods after Machado. Machado ducks to land a body shot and their heads collide, prompting a pause. They trade in the center on the restart and Machado denies a level change. Two minutes in. Parkin shoots again, denied again. Overhand right from Parkin. Machado lands a flying knee to the body, then a hard body kick. Short uppercut by Parkin in return. He shoots again, not even close. Two minutes to go.

    Clean jab by Machado. Parkin is running on fumes. He tries to tie up, can’t keep his grip. Counter uppercut by Parkin and a straight right that draws a smile. Machado body kick, Parkin counter right One minute to go. Parkin shoots again, whiffs again. Parkin low kick, Machado jab. Combo from Parkin, who eats another jab and comes back with a clubbing right. Another looping right by Parkin, who eats a chopping left in the final seconds. 10-9 Parkin.

    Final result: Parkin def. Machado by unanimous decision


    145 lbs.: Lucas Alexander vs Jeka Saragih

    Round 1: Solid body kick from Saragih met by a hard low kick from Alexander. Left hook to low kick by Alexander, then a feinted level change. Hard 3-2-3. One minute in. Stiff up-jab knocks Saragih back and Alexander goes to work against the fence. Saragih catches a kick for a takedown, and when Alexander limp-legs free and scrambles up, Saragih just annihilates him with an overhand right. A few more shots send Alexander from 98% to 100% unconscious for a wild upset knockout.

    Final result: Saragih def. Alexander by KO (punches) — WATCH HIGHLIGHTS!


    135 lbs.: Lucie Pudilova vs. Ailin Perez

    Round 1: Perez looks for a switch head kick. Body kick. 1-2 glances off. Spinning back kick attempt. Pudilova steadily advancing. Nice combo from Pudilova, but Perez grabs a body lock and puts her on the fence. Good takedown puts Perez on top in half guard. Heavy shoulder pressure two minutes in. Pudilova tries to bridge and Perez slips into mount, dropping punches. Chipping away with short elbows while Pudilova just holds on. Two minutes to go.

    Perez breaks her grip and fires hard elbows. She snuffs out another attempt by Pudilova to explode out. One minute to go. Pure defense by Pudilova as Perez tries to get enough room to drop heavier shots. 10-8 Perez.

    Round 2: Perez tries a spinning back kick; she picked up a shiner at some point. She gets in deep on a double-leg and wrenches Pudilova down into half guard. One minute in. Perez chilling in half guard, periodically landing punches and elbows. Two minutes in. Perez steadily moves to mount. Two minutes to go.

    More steady ground-and-pound from Perez. Pudilova just cannot dislodge her. Perez continuing to chip away. She ramps up the damage with a minute to go, unloading punches and elbows with Pudilova’s head stuck against the fence. No finish, but she continues landing until the bell. 10-8 Perez.

    Round 3: Perez shoots 10 seconds into the round. She can’t muscle Pudilova down, but does land a head kick before Pudilova catches a kick and takes her down into guard. One minute in. Perez uses the fence to work her way back up and Pudilova answers with some good knees before separating. Perez body kick. She shoots again, pulls guard when Pudilova is waiting with underhooks. Perez now just holding on two minutes in. Pudilova in quarter guard. Perez explodes out and a scramble ensues, but Pudilova manages to take side control. Perez spins to her knees and tries to shoot, making it to her feet with Pudilova holding a body lock. Nice knees by Pudilova with two minutes to go.

    More knees from Pudilova and they briefly slug it out. Pudilova tries a head kick and Perez shoots. Perez tries a head-and-arm throw and gives up her back. Big elbow by Pudilova with a minute to go. Full back mount. She slips in the RNC but Perez fights with everything she’s got to break her grip. Impressive survival by Perez. 10-8 Pudilova.

    Final result: Perez def. Pudilova by unanimous decision


    155 lbs.: Trey Ogden vs. Nikolas Motta

    Round 1: Both looking to jab in the early going. Stiff one from Ogden. Low kick by Motta a minute in. 2-3 goes wide. Ogden times a Motta low kick to shoot in and haul him to the fence. He lands some knees before exiting two minutes in. Motta stops a level change, eats jabs. Ogden looking sharp and Motta looking gunshy. Solid sprawl from Motta. 1-2 catches Ogden leaning with two minutes to go.

    Ogden sharpshooting with the jab, Motta a step behind. Fake level change. One minute to go. Well-timed reactive shot puts Ogden on top in half guard. He chips away until the bell. 10-9 Ogden.

    Round 2: Motta still struggling to walk Ogden down. Stiff jabs from both. Motta whiffs on a combo as Ogden continues to plug away with the jab. Ogden shoots, denied a minute in. Motta trying to put together more combos but can’t land clean. He denies a shot, bites on a feint shortly after. Two minutes in. Ogden shoots under a left hook, denied. Solid right hand from Motta, his first in a while. Ogden comes back with a jab. Another good right hand by Motta, then a left hook as Ogden disengages. Motta picking up a bit of steam. Two minutes to go.

    Motta takes his foot off the gas and Ogden goes back to sticking and moving. Ogden puts him on the fence after avoiding a combo and lands a good knee before separating. Failed shot, arm punches. Ogden avoids a flurry, fails a shot, lands a knee, eats some glancing combos. One minute to go. Jab from Ogden, then a hard combo after Motta sprawls on him. Again he shoots, running the pipe to sling Motta to the mat. Motta scrambles up, eating a knee and right hand. Left hook exchange. Ogden 1-3. 10-9 Ogden.

    Round 3: Ogden runs the pipe for a quick takedown, then stays attached when Motta limp-legs out and hauls him to the fence. Strong double-leg puts Motta on his butt. One minute in. Ogden moves to mount. Staying heavy, landing arm punches while grapevining Motta’s legs. Two minutes in. Ogden steadily works his way into arm triangle position and moves to side control with two minutes to go.

    The ref asks Motta to show him that he’s still conscious, and though he’s clearly pushing on Ogden to get room to breathe, the ref waves it off. A furious and very conscious Motta immediately jumps to his feet and protests. Terrible move by Mike Beltran. We’ll see how this plays out.

    125 lbs.: Charles Johnson vs. Rafael Estevam

    Round 1: Messed up my schedule a bit, so we’ll start 90 seconds in with an impressive hip toss from Estevam that puts him on top in guard. Johnson sits up, but a dogged Estevam stays on him and looks for the back two minutes in. One standing hook in against the fence. He loses it and Johnson turns to face him with double underhooks. Short knees from Johnson, then another slick toss from Estevam with two minutes to go.

    Johnson goes to his knees and Estevam slips in both hooks. Looking for the RNC. He switches to mount with a minute to go. Johnson regains half guard after eating a few shots. Estevam chipping away, then retakes the back when Johnson tries to turn. 10-9 Estevam.

    Round 2: Estevam shoots right off the bat, showing off some solid chain wrestling to power through Johnson’s sprawl and put him on the fence. He wrangles Johnson to his seat with an outside trip, then a double-leg mat return before jumping into backpack position and cinching up the body triangle. One minute in. Hunting for the RNC, landing short punches. Two minutes in. Constantly adjusting the body triangle to retain position as Johnson fights the hands. Johnson tries to explode out with two minutes to go but still can’t dislodge Estevam.

    Johnson gets to his knees and Estevam falls over the top, then kicks Johnson off after eating a handful of ground shots. Back to the feet. Heavy pressure from Estevam and he fires another double-leg with a minute to go. Rear body lock for the Brazilian. Johnson pivots out and tries a head kick on the break. Nice body shot. He sprawls on a shot and looks for combos, then slips on a body kick. Estevam tries one more level change. 10-9 Estevam.

    Round 3: Johnson looks fired up, putting together combos. Estevam fires, denied, continues to drive. Knees on the exit. Johnson sprawls on another shot and avoids a front headlock before ripping the body. More body shots from Johnson, who avoids a throw. Estevam whiffs a shot from way too far out, then eats a knee on the way in for his next one a minute in. Johnson wrenches him down in what’s almost a bulldog choke, but Estevam again drives through to get in on his hips. Two minutes in. Estevam locks his hands but can’t complete the takedown. Ref breaks them up 30 seconds later. Body kick exchange. Body shot from Johnson with two minutes to go.

    Johnson stalking, attacking the body as a tired Estevam circles. Solid shots against the fence. High-low right hands, elbows. Estevam shoots, eats knees, shoots again, denied. Johnson teeing off against the fence. Hard elbow. One minute to go. Estevam eats a 1-2 and shoots, denied. Johnson attacking the body, firing volume against the fence. Estevam shoots again and this one looks good, putting him on top as Johnson looks for a leg. 10-9 Johnson.

    Final result: Estevam def. Johnson by unanimous decision
