Sean Brady wants to test himself against Stephen Thompson

Sean Brady is eyeing one of the biggest names in the division.

The unbeaten rising contender debuted in the UFCโ€™s top 10 welterweight rankings when he outgrappled Michael Chiesa atย UFC Fight Night 198 in November.

Looking to continue his ascent up the ladder, Brady (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) is targeting a fight with two-time title challenger Stephen Thompson (16-6-1 MMA, 11-6-1 UFC), whoโ€™s coming off back-to-back decision losses to Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad in the UFC Fight Night 199 co-main event.

โ€œIโ€™ve always fought up and that will always be my goal I would love to test myself against a legend in @wonderboymma so what do you say ? #7 vs #9 April ?โ€

Thompson was stifled in his losses to Burns and Muhammad, who used a grappling-heavy approach to nullify Thompsonโ€™s striking. Being a black belt in jiu-jitsu whoโ€™s coming off a big upset win over grappling sensation Craig Jones at FURY Pro Grappling 3, itโ€™s understandable why Brady would want the matchup.

In the lead-up to his fight with Muhammad, Thompson acknowledged Bradyโ€™s come-up in the division, and despite his current rough patch, โ€œWonderboyโ€ has no intention of calling it a career just yet.
